About Us

Our Policies
We refuse to believe that euthanasia is the only option for pet overpopulation in this country.  Safe Harbor offers low-cost spay/neuter services and medical assistance for everyone, regardless of the owner's address or ability to pay.  Our low-cost sterilization services are available to everyone.  No questions asked.  We are doing our part to alleviate the suffering of animals through sterilization, not slaughter.

Special Needs
Safe Harbor Animal Rescue & Clinic responds to the needs of animals which come under our protection and care.  We take this commitment very seriously.  Unfortunately, this care doesn't come without a price tag.   Click on the picture for more information about some of our recent "Special Needs Cases".  Please  help us to  continue our work by sending your tax deductible donation to the address listed above or go to our online donation box
Here. We accept PayPal.

Our mission is to rescue homeless animals in need. Those that are injured, neglected, and abused take top priority. Owned animals that have become an inconvenience to their families are taken on space available basis only. We feel those animals are the responsibility of their owners, not Safe Harbor.

Animals living in our facility will remain in residence until they are carefully adopted.

Please understand we do not receive any money from any government agency. We are a charity surviving on donations alone, and our capacity is limited.

For the welfare of the resident animals, we cannot exceed our capacity.

Cages are not vacated by routine euthanasia. They become available only through adoption.

When we are out of room, we make every attempt to arrange a foster home. We ask our friends, family, and other non-profit rescue groups to help. If we cannot find any other solution, due to lack of animal control in Jupiter or Tequesta, we may find it necessary to refer an animal to other animal agencies, including Animal Care and Control, where the animal's fate is out of our hands.

Every effort is made to avoid this. It is not a matter of choice, but a matter of fact. We must work within our limits. Your understanding is appreciated.
